Description: GPs prescribe and administer medication, treatment, or therapy.
Monitoring patients
GPs monitor patients conditions and progress, and respond to complaints or feedback.
Providing health advice
GPs provide general health advice, and recommend healthy behaviors to prevent and manage disease.
Referring patients
GPs refer patients to hospitals and other medical services for urgent or specialist treatment.
Educating patients
GPs explain test results and medical procedures to patients, and provide health education.
Liaising with other professionals
GPs liaise with other healthcare professionals, such as midwives, pharmacists, and psychiatrists.
Managing practice
GPs may be responsible for practice management and administration.

Requirements: Medical Degree.
Successful completion of a 3-year residency training program.
Registration with an appropriate health professions board.
Proven experience as a General Practitioner.
Adherence to health and ethical codes, including when under duress.
Attendance at medical conferences.
Personable, supportive disposition.
