- A radiologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating medical conditions using medical imaging techniques. They interpret medical images, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds, to identify abnormalities and assist other doctors in making diagnoses. Radiologists also perform interventional procedures, which use imaging guidance to deliver treatments, such as biopsies and draining fluid from an area.
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
3 to 7 years’ internship and residency training, specializing in radiology.
Valid and active medical license in the state you wish to practice.
Proficient in general radiology techniques, including X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound.
Patient management skills.
