Description: Using specialized equipment to perform ultrasound scans of internal organs and tissues.
Ensuring that patients are comfortable and in the correct position for imaging.
Analyzing images and communicating findings to the physician for diagnosis.
Maintaining accurate records of imaging procedures and patient data.
Identifying normal and abnormal imaging results, communicating a summary of the results to physicians or other health professionals, and alerting physicians to urgent problems.
Preparing patients for procedures and educating patients throughout the ultrasound exam.
Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and making adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessary.
Selecting the appropriate settings and adjusting the patients’ positions accordingly.
Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures.

Requirements: An associates or bachelors degree in sonography.
An industry certification and state license may be advantageous.
Strong technical, communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
The ability to explain technical terms in a clear and understandable way.
Good eyesight and attention to detail.
