Euthanizing: Veterinarians perform humane euthanasia when necessary.
Conducting tests: Veterinarians conduct tests like blood tests and urinalysis to diagnose health issues.
Maintaining records: Veterinarians maintain records of each patient.
Establishing quarantines: Veterinarians may establish or carry out quarantines to prevent the spread of disease.
Inspecting livestock: Food safety and inspection veterinarians inspect and test livestock and animal products for disease.

Requirements: Doctor of veterinary medicine degree.
Appropriate state licensure.
